"A beautiful ornamental variety out of Mexico, the Aurora peppers look like Christmas lights and can light up any sort of setting, whether it’s in a garden or on a patio. The beautiful colors may only be a façade, as these plants produce some pretty hot peppers!
Growing to around a foot in height, Aurora pepper plants produce many colorful clusters of bulb-shaped pods that measure about an inch-and-a-half in length each. These pods ripen from soft lavender to a deep purple, then to a bright yellow-orange, and finally to its mature red color. Expect to see the range of these colors all on display in stunning formations!
Aurora peppers are mostly used as an ornamental variety that is perfect for container growing, but the pods are edible and can be used to spice up any sort of food dish.
The flavor is fairly neutral, or peppery, so the only thing you should expect with these peppers is their spicy heat. Use it to add a kick to salsa, or sauce, or chop these bulbs up and add them to any fresh salad!
